1916 dwm

One more time, what value would a nice 1916 Artillery in 75% shape, all matching numbers including original numbered mag, adjustable front and rear sights, bore nice, no damage to grips, and with the correct holster, tool, and I assume a cleaning rod in the holster. Nice clean gun with no damage or problems.

Worth $2,500 or higher?

Thanks.

A member earlier had posted for sale an artillery with a "matching" part (same last 2 numbers but not original to the gun) and asked $2800 or so. I should think a gun in the shape you describe would fetch at least $4000 as that appears to be the going rate from what I have seen on WTS ads here and in some online auctions. Particularly since it has a matching numbered magazine to it as well as the holster with tool. All its missing is the stock and second magazine to be a good rig.

Hi Tom,
No one could give you a worthwhile answer without photos, good ones and several of them. Your description is meaningless, "nice" and "75%" do not belong in the same sentence. We would like to be helpful but you have to do your bit too.
Regards, Norm

Can't give photos, have only seen pics myself. It is a nice looking gun with only as much finish loss as 100 years can do, hence the 75% determination. No holster rash, no pitting, no reblue. That's the best I can do right now. I'm just trying to figure out if I should pursue a purchase or not. Not trying to hold anyone's feet to the fire I just want opinions from more advanced Luger people than myself. Ballpark figure is fine. Thanks

I'll go out on that limb, and say that barring issues not mentioned, you'll not get hurt at $2500. But Norme is absolutely right, especially with these higher end guns.
Send photos when you can.

If that's the case then it's worth closer to $3,500.00 than $2,500.00.

George, can't be that one..."and I assume a cleaning rod in the holster."

Roadster 02 11-02-2018 11:22 AM

It's one like that, and the rod is the same. Excuse me for my ignorance about the rod. Dumb newby.

Tom, We are all ignorant in our own way about something. No excuse needed.
