Original or repo loading tool

Asking for a friend. Is this an original and, if so, how rare/valuable? I can barely discern a 656 or 658? under the eagle. I don't have a magnifier with me. I can provide more photos if neccessary. Thank you for helping me help my friend determine what he has. :)

original!
Correct for Mauser 41 byf for one... E/655 tool in excellent condition... $100.00 and up... Ebay hounds are asking anywhere from $100.00 to $200.00... which I think is wwaaaaayyyy out there!???… Best to all, til...lat'r...GT:cheers:

I personally have a bit of trouble telling non-obvious fakes - this one looks good
I was told a long time ago, that many times a lighter strike is better than a deep solid one. I of course, notice that most collectors want a solid marking.... |
Looks right to me too. These e/655 tools have a light stamp on them as they should.

I appreciate all the responses. My friend will be happy to hear he owns an original tool. To my knowledge he does not own a Luger and I am unsure what he is doing with this tool. Thanks everyone!
