1920 Carbines

For your vewing plesure. The control numbers are 80 numbers apart. the rear stock on the top one is a repo. The cleaning rod is an original.(thanks Albert) The box of ammo is not carbine ammo, But is a real box of DWM ammo 7.65
If only I had a box of carbine ammo. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Not fair!

Its not fair that someone on earth has two carbines, and I don't even have one! :D

Seriously though, those are two -great- carbines--I have seen them both, up close and personal--and with the accessories its a great display.

Russ, congratulations again and thanks for showing us the picture.

Russ, Very nice! Have you ever shot either of them? Jerry Burney

Dean 10-09-2004 05:18 PM

Russ, Is it a wooden handle on the cleaning rod?
I sure would like to see a closeup.

Russ 10-09-2004 05:59 PM

Jerry no I have not shot one yet. :(

Dean No it is not wood it is a metal grease container.

Thanks Russ <img border="0" alt="[jumper]" title="" src="graemlins/jumper.gif" />

Now that is nice stuff! Like you, I wish I had a box of carbine ammo, but the last chance I had at a reasonably good box (missing one end of the top) was for a price tag of $850 and that is just too rich for my wallet.

You have some really fine Lugers. Obviously you take the hobby seriously and it shows. Nice work Russ. Your effort raises the bar for folks that want to attain the status of "collector" rather than "accumulator".

Pete Ebbink 10-09-2004 11:46 PM

Congratulations, Russ...what a fine accomplishment !

Will you bring your newer piece to Reno for show & tell ?

Regards,

Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />

Russ 10-10-2004 12:25 AM

Pete Yes, I will have it in Reno.

Thanks for all the coments.

Ron, My wife wishes I did not take it that serious. :D <img border="0" alt="[hiha]" title="" src="graemlins/roflmao.gif" />

A wonderful display indeed. I am glad that the cleaning rod made a nice addition to your set. If I find another box of carbine ammo, I shall definitely let you know. A full box of ammo with a very good condition box can fetch up to $1000 or a fraction more.

I must admit that I like your 1902 Luger carbine carrying case which are the rarest accessory to own for a set.

Well done,
Albert

Very Nice Russ... if you ever decide to shoot one of them, make sure you record it on video... I know that is not something that will happen very often.
