1938 Mauser S/42 9mm Luger
I just received my very first Luger. It came with the original magazine. I would like to have (2) magazines but I can't afford to buy another original magazine. I notice that there are two after market magazines being offered on Gunbroker.
A Mec GAR and a Triple K. Which is the better of these two and please advise any feedback on these after market mags. Are there any other types? Please advis, thanks a lot, Wally |
Mec-Gar magazines are the ones to go with. Pretty much a unanimous opinion on this sight when looking for a new mag.

But don't pay too much for one. Greg Cote lists them, I believe, though I haven't made sure they are in stock. eBay has decent prices, and you should find one for less than thirty bucks. A hair over $30 if it's the nickel finished model...

I appreciate TripleK for their making mags for so many, long out of production pistols. I dislike TripleK because their materials, design specs and overall execution is mediocre at best. That said I own many TripleK mags just because in many instances they are the only aftermarket choice. Fortunately Mec-Gar makes a decent P.08 mag.

I have 2 or 3 Tri-Ks that G.T. put new springs into. Work fine. With that said, I'd buy Mec-Gars if buying new.
