A neat card. I own three of them, two of which were sent by Luger himself to his son, Georg Jr. You can see a photo of the first one he sent on page 212 of Datig's "The Luger Pistol" (revised edition 1962). Needless to say, it is one of my most prized possessions, having been personally written and signed by the man himself! It means more to me than a GL Luger.

I think it's a case of "artistic license". The artist was just trying to squeeze the gun and the shooter into a square frame.
It's a wonderful postcard by the way, I've always lusted for one.
