Gun Socks

Planning on ordering some gun socks. Some are just cotton, others are silicone treated. Would the silicone treated sock work fine with a Luger? I do not know how the silicone would effect wood grips.

I use Bore stores on all guns and plenty of them have wood grips for years with no problems.

All I use are Bore Stores, we liked them so well, we were selling them at gun shows, Have hundreds of them, new in the wrap, in the garage in assorted sizes :)

I use silicone treated gun socks to store firearms in my safe.

These tend to repel moisture.

I've also started making my own out of a lightweight sweatshirt material (cotton blend) that I silicone impregnate using a spray silicone.

Note that you have to be careful with silicone since it can adhere to a firearm surface and can be almost impossible to remove. The socks are designed to avoid transfer of the silicone from the cloth material to the firearm.

I've seen analysis that indicates they will help a firearm inside a safe survive a fire. Here's a testimonial:

Ed, if you are selling these, can I order some from you? or should I order off Ebay?

PM sent

The size for 1911's / Lugers is much smaller looking than you'd think (P3 I think), but they fit tight, we use to sell the most of those, so unsure how many we have. But the larger size we have too, for all kinds of pistols/revolvers, rifles, shotguns.

its all in the garage and i just need to sort them after moving ;)

P3 is the size if memory serves me correct :)
