Brass slinging

My 30 cal. luger ejects the brass way out there. The brass goes quite high, slightly to the right and lands about 15 feet behind me. The brass is not marred in any way tho. Just a pita to retrieve from atop the range roof. Is this normal? I am firing Fiocchi and PU ammo.

That's within the range of patterns the ejected brass displays for any of my Lugers. I'd say it varies with the particular pistol. Although they were meant to generally fly up, small differences can result in different brass trajectory. I'd say as long as they're exiting the action and not winding up down your shirt, you're doing great.

If they all go up onto the roof, that sounds like a dandy way to prevent their getting mixed up with other brass! Save that brass, even if you don't reload, reloaders here will be glad to have it!

Be sure that the rear of the back toggle is not leaving finish damage or impressions on the back of the frame. If you're seeing finish damage, increase the strength of the recoil spring.
