Got bored on sunday. Luger stand.

Decided to knock up a simple luger stand with bits that were available. Turned out well.
Ingredients were a left over block of hardwood, a dummy mag and two coats of linseed oil. I used the old frame for fitting and figured it actually looked cool on the stand. |

I like it! I did something similar to make a photo setup.

Goodness that looks really nice, congratulations!

The stand looks good; the Luger less so. :)

I Think This Was Made By Jerry!!

And you thought he was only an expert in leather!!

I would think the correct angle is a bit tricky?
Do you just roll it back and forth until you feel its the correct angle and then drill in place? |
I slipped the dummy mag in the frame. That helped to get the angle correct. Drilled the mag first, then drilled through the base plate.

I made a jig to hold the assembled dummy mag and base at the proper angle, clamped it down and used my lathe to bore a pilot hole for the lag screw.
P.S. Here is the jig. If it isn't crude, then I don't know the definition of "crude" :). It isn't a very good photo, snapped with my phone, but not worth the effort to get a better one. |
I Bought This More Sturdy One~
