Reproduction Luger Mag Pouch
Does anyone have any experience with reproduction mag pouches?
I am looking to buy at least two and found theses two options so far: http://www.e-sarcoinc.com/lugermagpouchdoublerepro.aspx https://www.simpsonltd.com/products/c29083 The Sarco offering appears to be low quality. The Simpson offering may be the same item as Sarco? Has anyone found a good source for these? Thanks, -Miles |
Hi Miles,
For what it's worth the two offerings are not the same. The Sarco pouches have squared off ends to their closure straps, the Simpsons are ogival. Norm |
Hold out for a Portuguese pouch. They can be had for less than $100 and they are designed like the German pouches.
|
Miles, OK I'll bite..what do you want with things like this? What do you plan do do with them?
|
I think they would be handy for range use.
I have been putting a lot of rounds through my Luger lately and have purchased several spare mags. So now I am looking for something to hold them while shooting (that is not made out of nylon). That is why I am looking for reproductions; something I can use and not worry about. |
Well if that's the case either one you point out should work. Sarco is only 10 bucks apiece. Can't go wrong there.

Why not have Jerry make you a 3 or 4 mag pouch? Bill
|
Jerry, is that an option? If so what would something like that cost?
I like the 2 mag pouch but have never seen a 4. |
quality magazine pouches
Hi Jerry! I would be in the market for some "high end" quality mag pouches from you?........ If you decide to make a run of them... Also, do you have a "makers Legend" you could stamp them with as to, made by you? I's love to have a couple of those... (you could make it old timey like? ) :).... best to all, til...lat'r....GT
BTW, I have a black Pigskin one Jerry made for made many years ago...top notch! :).... |
Thanks for the thought but for what you want them for Sarco is the best option. I only make mag pouches now for myself. They are hand made & stitched..a regular Smithsonian production. They are not economical enough for range use. I have made several 4 compartment mag pouches but economically they are not worth making.

This ^^^^ is exactly what I use my mag pouches for. I own 6(I think) of the Sarco mag pouches, and one of the group is too tight for Luger mags, so I use it for other mags. The others do exactly what I was looking for them to do. I have no complaints with these very inexpensive pouches, as I knew they were cheap reproductions going in. :) |
I once bought a SARCO Arty rig and my LP08 would in no way fit into the holster, returned it promptly. Looked pretty crude also.
Bought the Arty rig from CMR quite a while ago, and was very pleased with the quality VS expense. CMR is offering a mag pouch that if it's the same as mine, and it should be, you'll be happy, much happier than with the SARCO. https://www.cmrfirearms.com/pistols-...1cr-p-344.html As I recall the owner of CMR was visiting this site back then, I think. |

although not leather, bore store offers 4 and 6 mag pouches, made of silicone
https://www.amazon.com/Bore-Stores--.../dp/B00AFFI1HY my son and I were considered a distributor in Pennsylvania, I use borestores for all my guns and magazines, although i like leather better for looks. Ed |
An option for quality handmade Luger leather is El Paso Saddlery. I've bought a number of their items over the years and have always been very pleased. Not "cheap", but very high quality.

I just placed an order with CMR.
Thanks for the suggestions everyone! |
UPDATE:
CMR canceled my order this week. I guess they are no longer stocking the high grade mag pouch reproduction but don't have that detail listed on the order page. (just wanted to alert anyone who is thinking about ordering one) I have now ordered three of the Sarco offering. I hope they aren't too rough, but for the price it's hard to complain. |
