Problem with locking pin
1 Attachment(s)
I am unable to return locking pin in proper place. Stops 1/8 inch short. A 1914 P08
It came out very easily with finger pressure. Any suggestions?Attachment 70086 |
Make sure the tip of the lever's shaft is lined up with its hole on the far side. The pressure from the tiny spring must be overcome to do this! You may have better luck controlling the lever if you clamp the frame in a padded vice and can devote all your attention to the lever.

Agreed. The lever has play in it and if not perfectly lined up with the far side of the frame, it will not slide home. The spring is not really that strong and has David pointed out. Securing the frame in a padded vice allows you to concentrate all attention on aligning and pressing in the lever.

Ok will attempt it tomorrow. Thanks

Your title is a little misleading, the part you refer to is the "take down lever" or "locking block", calling it a "pin" is confusing, a least to me.
Even looking at the picture, I could not decide what your problem was, but then I'm a little slow at times. :) But you have received good advice as to how to get it into place. Let's see the rest of the luger when you get it together! |
