Are All Lugers The Same!
I own a 1908 Commercial luger and a 1908 military issue and there not the same, Why? Were there any mechanical differences or finish issues. With a new military contracts for hundred of thousands, did the standard change? Big difference even with your eyes closed! Even there is a real difference in holster quality! I'll post the differences tomorrow!

Well,
all lugers are different, they have different numbers and markings on them! :) We ight understand your question/statement when you post what you think may be the "difference". |
The answers to this question are both long and deep.
There are good reasons for every design variation in the Luger pistol. Some were based in preferences, some in necessity, and some in optional choices for Luger customers. The Borchardt and Luger Automatic Pistols (the Gortz andf Sturgess masterwork) explains many of them. While it's a great reference, many of the background discussions make great reading. |

IMHO, The term P08 indicates a military accepted luger with a 9mm x 100mm (4") long barrel. There are other calibers, barrel lengths & markings among the over 350 variations of lugers that are not P08s. For beginners, I recommend Kenyon's "Lugers at Random" to become framiliar with the commonly used terms for most variations. TH
