Found these battle packs of ammunition in a friends garage along with some Teller Mines. Those of you better versed in German re better equipped than I to translate them.
Thx,
Lyn

Looks like 8mm Mauser to me. Closeup of the label would help.

Chickenthief 10-11-2017 07:29 PM

They are indeed 7,92x57 Mauser M08

Trageslaufe = Carry handle

Made in the 9'th month of 1940

Patrone s S = Schwere Spitzgeschoss = Heavy bullet (197,5grains)

Code P 635 = Gustloff-Werke, Otto Eberhardt-Patronenfabrik, Hirtenberg Niederdonau

Then it says a lot about powder used and load (and who made it), primer used (and who made it)

Those would be good sellers.

Hopefully the Teller "things" are dewat...

Lyn, not sure I understand the circumstances of you rummaging through a friends garage, but that looks like a great collector find. I concur with gunnertwo, as without the proper licenses for destructive devices, I would turn in the teller mines to BATFE for disposal.

If the tellers are inert, then DO NOT turn them over to ATF. Don't contact ATF unless it's an emergency.

Lyn Islaub 10-12-2017 07:37 PM

The Tellers are inert and empty cans. The fuses fro the Model 35s are inert also.

WOW! Those battle packs of 8mm should be highly collectable!
