Was the front sight replaced?
 

I've been reading and rereading Simson Lugers. Incredible amount of information. And as I went to the safe to retrieve mine for the 3rd time, I realized I should just leave it out until I finish the book. Again.

And so as I was observing each piece I discovered that there should be an acceptance mark on my front sight but there is none, The witness mark looks clean but I am no expert (barely novice) so I wanted to see what the opinion is here. It is number 1685a.

Need much better photographs to form an opinion. Take them with no flash, preferably outside on an overcast day, and from multiple angles...
