Beretta 1934
 

While waiting at a FFL for my background check on my new byf 42 rig I saw this little guy in the case. Well it came home with me. Did some research and the blank slide Beretta were made for a very short time in 1943. Serial number is G04294. C/RE on left side, I believe that means Italian army issue? Any one know more about these?

Watch where the webbing between your thumb and index finger goes. The hammer likes to bite if your jam your flesh up too high.

Great little pistol, though. Mine eats anything I feed it, including HP's. Never had it FTF or FTE or jam. My father got it in Italy just before he invaded the south of France. Made his own holster for it.

I recently acquired a 1938 Beretta 1934. It is also stamped "RE" for Royal Army. What is amazing is that Beretta produced this model up through 1990! That is a long run. I enjoy it for what it is, a historical novelty and fun to play with 380acp. They seem very well built. The downside is the 10+lb trigger and the hard to reach safety. My biggest frustration is the design of the last round slide hold open that is a groove in the magazine follower?! This prevents rapid mag changes, well, at least for me.
I still love the gun and I am sure you will enjoy yours.

Mine has a very reasonable trigger pull and does not have a hold open. Made in '38 as I recall.

Eugen nailed it. For what it is, its a great little gun. And they are fairly inexpensive. And ammo is cheap. They are just fun.
