Conversion unit
Have a 4"(?) barrel conversion unit, nearly new in a oak box, in mint condition, with german army proof stamps. Don't know how to post pictures but would appreciate an idea as to value. Serial number range is in the 4XXX. If you send me your e-mail address, I will send you pictures. Thanks for your help.

Here are luger1's pictures, sorry for the delay, I lost the thread! CRS strikes again.
Luger1, the box is definitely not original. The matrial, shape, layout, latch, and hinges are all more recent. |
Seems to be a 8" barrel conversion in 22Lr for the 4" barrel standard and for the navy in 6"
Two 'guide sleeve' on the barrel , sorry gogol translation |

It is not a period piece of the kit; but useful. I made one for my kit and have used it in a 6" "navy" shooter. Works fine, and actually looks better when installed. |

I don't own one but do read any thread that pops up, and they seem to go for ~$450 - ~$600 on GB & eBay. Even the incomplete ones list at the lower price; wooden box doesn't really seem to affect value unless an actual military-issue box with accessories. ;) The ERMA unit seems to be most common; the Lothar-Walther next. The Metric caliber doesn't have much following here [4mm?], the sub-caliber ammunition must be hard to find even on The Continent. The longer K98 conversions pop up occasionally for higher prices. |
Collecting conversion units and sub-caliber inserts is fun. There are many solutions and some interesting calibers for those kits.
22lr .22 centerfire .22 short 4mm Lienhard 4mm M20 Etc... |
Klauss have a nice collection about those items !!
