Really need to know if stock is original or reproduction, I have had it for 20 yrs and still do not know, can anyone help. Thanks

This is one for Jerry Burney. It may help to remove one of the 2 screws thru the tangs. Seems like there was some characteristic of those that indicated old or new mfg.

It is tough to be certain from a picture; but it looks like an original stock to me.
But the numbers are not likely original- or at least not issue German numbers from WWI. |
It appears to be a stock for a 1936 "Siamese" contract artillery Luger. They were numbered in the wood as this one is as well as the same year "Persian" contract artilleries, only the latter were numbered in Farsi characters. The numbering on the stock iron seems to be someones attempt to match a gun as it's not correct in orientation and was stamped through the bluing.

The wood to metal fit is certainly good and the oval strap slots are not chamfered..two indicators I look at first. George has seen many more of these than I have..it's no repro in the modern made sense for sure.

The pilot holes for the closure strap help support this diagnosis , too. If they didn't form a precise square, though, it would definitely have been bogus.
