Having lived through some minor ones, flooding is your worse enemy. Debby bought a few Rubbermaids one for lugers and one for leather. You wont be sorry! Eric

Eric - I;ve never met Debby, but won't it be crowded in that little box??? Why not buy a raft or rowboat and she can hold them on her lap!

Thank You for your best wishes! Yes we do have a few out back. I've only seen 2 in 5 years! Noisy neighbors are more a pain!!

To be a collector implies having extra concerns. Security, natural disaster, extreme weather, humidity level etc. Some collectors have many guns, if met situation like Houston, it is simply impossible to move that many things out in time.

The duct tape is a good idea. Tape the door seams, should keep the water out. My safe is all welded construction, if I taped the seams and dial I bet it would keep the water out. Maybe some silicon caulk for the dial/hand lever. Then just peel the caulk off when you're ready to open it. That would probably work on the seams too. Forget the tape. :)
