4 Attachment(s)
This was a present for my first will for a widow in Paoli, Pa. It was her husband service revolver and could not find the holster. It was the first gun I ever fired!!

Well, that is cool!

That was the Capone era!

I guess this is a Smith & Wesson Military & Police, later renamed Model 10, chambered for .38 Special. A true classic, still in production.

It outlived our lugers and me too! I love the history right on the barrel! Did police stations or units ever stamp property marks?

Many police departments marked their guns. Sometimes on the backstrap, or on the side of the frame. One that comes to mind are the S&W model 58 41magnum revolvers for the San Antonio PD. Marked SAPD on the right side of the frame. Plainly visible.

Tis a fond memory to be sure. The memory of the first time is worth more than the metal that achieved it.
To have both, well..............that is indeed something special. |
For sure it must have saved its' owners' life!!!

Nice one, Eric. Now you're all set to play cops'n'robbers!

This kind of history has to make you smile ! - Thanks !
