Yet another M1930, are you crazy?
 

Not crazy. Actually no. It's a hobby. The variation is not rare. It came with a very nice Schork harness rig. A friend was looking for Schork, so I parted that leather rig with him, and kept this gun and stock for myself. Currently, I am using a conehammer for occasional shooting, but that's a little bit dangerous, due to conehammer is full of numbers, including many small parts, and its bore was worn too, so there is no accuracy to talk about. This M1930 is free of those concerns. This variation only has four numbers on grip frame, barrel, floor, and lock frame, none of those are fragile parts. Bore is nice too, should be accurate.

That's a crisp looking gun, surely a great find and an enviable acquisition, congrats.

The stock is in great shape too. The gun is a good one, but not a top one - there is some loss of blue on the steel grip. Quite amount of these nice M1930s are floating on the US gun market, Schork leather is rare than banner stock, and banner stock is rare than gun.

Originally, planned to sell the gun too, and just keep the stock. But I changed my mind -- for this amount of $, it's hard to find another decent sample that I can shoot occasionally.

Fired 70 rounds from it. In new gun or new car, people talking about a phase called "break-in", amazingly, although this gun suffered some blue loss on grip straps (due to aggressive steel wool activity in that area in the past), it was probably fired only in factory before, the amount of wearing caused by these 70-round PPU on interior of the gun is more than all shooting caused wearing in the past 80 years. "break-in-shooting" for a M1930... it's a rare opportunity.

Here is my whole C96 collection at this time. Other collectors took all they wanted away, and left me a small group. I added two pieces in recently (including this M30), make a total of six. The small gun storage can exactly stack six of them in. Amazingly, the group still shows a pattern and a typical coverage on this type.

Fired 90 rounds PPU from it yesterday. 20 rounds with stock attached, 70 feet indoor range.

Aiming point was on the middle "redman" forehead. 2 rounds missed a little bit. 1 round on the edge. All other 17 rounds hit. My eyesight is becoming poor, nowadays, not only I cannot see remote objects clearly, I cannot see close objects clearly either. The red color helped a little bit.

Each head on this paper is smaller than an adult's head size. This type of pistol has military accuracy. The distribution on this distance is about an apple size.

This type of pistol has great liquidity in the market. In merely a few months, my tiny collection shrinks from six to one. I need to keep a German, so one is kept for myself.

Using the money from selling, I paid for an expensive Spanish 902. Even after that, there are still bucks left for another Spanish 900 and ammo needed in the shooting activity.

Mauser is printed in my mind. I feel there is no need to hold them in my hands to occupy resources. I played from Conehammer to Schnellfeuer. Good enough. It's a good gun, but it's time to move on.

If possible, will acquire a Spanish F model pistol in future. Missed two in the past. I heard only six are registered in the US, but that data might not be accurate. Many people did not register their guns accurately.
