Ammo box for the Brazilian Luger
6 Attachment(s)
It is amazing how some simple stuff can make someone very happy.
I just added this (empty) box for 7,65 mm Luger (.30 Luger) ammo made by a French company for the Brazilian Army in 1928. Besides the normal expected inscriptions - as "50 Cartridges for Parabellum Pistol cal. 7,65" - it is interesting to note that it also brings the bullet velocity: 350 +/- 10 meters per second (average). Other inscriptions are the kind of bullet (iron with copper-nickleled jacket) and propelent (smokeless powder) and date (batch #4, 2nd quarter of 1928). I identified the ammo factory as Societté Francése Des Munitions de Chasse, de Tir & de Guerre, by then was located at Notre-Dame de Victoire street, Paris. This kind of item is very, very difficult to appear, even down here, but this one came in amost for free: around 15.00 dollars, including shipping. Almost unbelievable. It will display nicely with my Brazilian Parabellum. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Douglas. |

Hi Ed,
This is for the Portuguese Contract Lugers (most probably the GNR pistols). Douglas |
Thank you
And I meant to say earlier, great information above! |
Douglas, congratulations ! Old original ammo boxes are almost impossible to find in France too.
