Interarms Mauser 9mm cut away
I have been offered the above luger with a 4 inch barrel. Lots of sectionalising, even the mags. Comes with black leather holster, mauser marked stripping tool. Have been told that 100 were made. Can't find any info. Possibly $2500?
Appreciate any info. |
There is a cutaway Mauser in the current RIA auction, in a lot with another pistol.
A combined lot indicates something "they" think is going to be a tough sell or low value. You may want to look at it, I don't have the number, it may take you a while to find it. IMO the value may be half of what you think- but then I'm always wrong about prices; except for the stuff I buy. ;) |
Yeah.. that's right. There is one in RIAC regional:
https://www.rockislandauction.com/de...pistols#detail I think it's factory. But you'd better confirm with Mauro & Vlim on this type. Without s/n, at least it has a style... is this style correct? It does not look very pretty though.. Bid on RIAC one, $600-$1000, you cannot lose. There are two of them, you can sell that PP later to cover the cost of two. In that case, the cutaway will be yours, free. If it indeed comes to you at no cost or very low cost, your future flexibility will be unlimited. |
Appreciated the feedback by Members, it's a real nice factory cut away. I can now see why it didn't reach the reserve at a recent auction. In the offer was a 1936 9mm x 4 inch Siamese Mauser contract. Thai seal and numbers. Yes I can appreciate not be able to shot it, but have 3 shooters.

The RIA Mauser Cut-away doesn't have the standard "red" cut indication that usually all the Mauser Parabellum factory cut-away have.
The factory cut away pistols are rare and usually with the higher cost with respect to the pistol. Usually the price is in the range of the commemorative, only a limited number of samples have been produced. |
Thank you Mauro, this is the Mauser that you have photos of. The 2 mags are cut it away, + a 9mm the round that fits into the chamber. A fellow life time collector has started selling his largeLuger collection and the stuff gets better and better.

Kiwi,
I have some cool documents and data about the Mauser Parabellum in the Mauser Archive, so if you need any certification based on the original Mauser Archive, please do not hesitate to contact me: mauser.archive@gmail.com To have more info on the Mauser Parabellum certification please have a look here: http://www.lugerlp08.com/mauser%20pa...tification.htm Cheers, Mauro |
There is some BATF documentation on the curaways. Will look it up when I'm feeling better.

Gerben,
Apparently they are considered firearms, but are C&R. I found your post of the BATFE Letter here: http://luger.gunboards.com/showthrea...-on-SimpsonLTD |
$1100 hammer plus 15% plus shipping, total cost is probably $1350 for the cutaway and PP.
Hopefully, you won it. It's good price for this pair. |
Finally taken delivery of my cut away, but can't find the serial number?
Was lead to believe it was under the grip, no, can't find any where? Can someone help please. Many thanks. Mark |
No serial number is good. That would raise the odds that it was a factory cutaway.
|
Yes it's a factory cut away. Exactly as the pics above. Interarms markings on RH side of top receiver. Mauser markings on front strap. Came with a Interarms black hosters, spare cut away mag & Mauser marker stripping tool.
Real nice, no need to post pictures as it has already been done as above. The people I got it off said the serial number was 7, but I can't find it??? |
Perhaps at the underside of the toggle. Which wouldn't be the real serial number, but just a factory marking to keep toggle and receiver together during final fitting/finishing.
|
Been in contact with Mauro who said the cut away model are not serial numbered. In New Zealand we have to have a serial # for regisration. Hopefully the 7 that was on the previous owner Register will be accepted.
I wish to thank all the knowledgeable Luger collectors. Mark |
