Cheap lugers frame on ebay

Just search luger frame. I bid 81 bucks, it's up to 82 now. Looks beat but might be worth it for someone looking for a project. It's not mine, nor do I have anything to do with the seller. Just a heads up. Where was this last hear when I was looking for a cheap frame?

I am surprised that eBay has not pulled that item yet. A frame is the controlled part of a Luger and transfer must be through an FFL holder on both sides of the sale. Ebay prohibits the sale of weapons and technically, being the BATFE designated controlled part, this is classified as a weapon. If the sale goes through without FFL and shipping restrictions, then an illegal transaction will have occurred.

I think its a pretend one, the holes for the takedown and others parts don't look right

It is either an air soft or other pop gun frame, not a "real" frame.

I looked at it some days back and it was clearly not for a "real gun" , which may explain why it is still there.

If it was a air soft frame, I'm glad I'm not the high bidder. I'm sure there are lots of stuff sold thru ebay that's technically against the law somewhere or some country. It's probably like the laws on the books in our country, the law only cares about certain laws and ignores the ones that aren't convenient for them. Jim

I believe you guys are right, it is a non-gun, that is why eBay has not pulled it.

Ebay pulled one of my auctions for a wood hand guard for an M1A rifle.
I couldn't figure out why, so I actually tracked down a person who gave me "the" answer.
NO parts for any firearm on the California "bad" list of assault or other whatever weapons they do not like there.

If it is not on that list, they have no idea what it is. If it had been a real luger frame, it would likely still be there unless someone "reported" it.

Can someone point out the parts that are wrong to a person with a untrained eye? I pored over the images next to slot of frame pics on the internet last night and aside from the mag catch spring screwed into the frame. It looks almost lime the frame was burnt or something. Maybe it's a Japanese maruchin replica luger frame? Jim

Take a look at the magazine release spring. And where the hold open should be on the inside. I'm no expert but I'd say that is a toy.

I googled marushin p08 luger and looked at the images. There are pics of disassembled guns and it even has the screwed on mag catch spring. Jim

Clearly a cast frame with stamped metal parts.

Heh. I also encountered this listing a couple of days ago. The tells are obvious, so I didn't post But I did get a kick out the differences presented. That squished plastic mag release button, for example, is particularly charming... And check out that wild and crazy recoil spring linkage setup!

A few years ago a mid-60s Erma pistol was listed as parts. The description said, "everything you can see in the pics," so I messaged the seller to ask in the visible grip frame was included. His response was, "everything you can see in the pics." Lol, I don't know if the listing was booted or not, but you gotta admire the seller's cahones... and wonder about his fancy dance steps to avoid saying it was basically a firearm for sale.

well, as Don said, I have had numerous things pulled because they "thought" it was wrong.

If a magazine doesn't say less than 10 - wham
looks like a real gun and you don't say - it is a prop - wham

I think most of the stuff kicked by ebay are auto words or some person has REPORTED on the link.

Ed is spot on.

IIRC, you also have to paint the end of the toy muzzle red. Or jam a red plug in the bore, something like that.

Ron Wood 05-28-2017 08:37 PM

As far as I am concerned, eBay can jam a red plug where the sun don't shine.

Right on, Ron!

Ron, well said. Bill :)
