1906 AE Luger - what do you think?

7 Attachment(s)
I am considering buying this 1906 AE Luger, SN 31506.
It is caliber 7.65, has no BUG proofs, and there are no halos on Serial Numbers or the GERMANY stamp. It looks very clean and original to me, except the SN on the frame looks very light?

Is it worth $2500, collector to collector?

Thanks
- Geo

Geo:
The orig. bluing is very nice and the straw colors are excellent. Navy magazine? I love the sharp, crisp lines of the sideplate on these early guns. The numbers don't scare me and it is a quality piece, but it seems like no real bargain at $2500. What are your thoughts?

If original blue and it looks like it is from internet pictures I would pay that for it.

Dealer to collector, it will be $3500;
Trader to collector, $3000;
Collector to collector, $2500;
Widow to collector, $1500 or lower, no real bottom.

Just kidding. if I think, $2500 should be acceptable. It's probably won't be easy to suppress it under $2000, because the seller knows this gun.

How is the bore? It's probably not important on pistol of lower condition, but on a commercial pistol in this nice shape, don't underestimate the bore, very important.

My thoughts are these:
I think it's probably worth $2900-3000, and I do like how clean it is.
I don't think it is any great bargain, but it is a fair price for something I have been looking for for some time.

I am a little concerned about the gray spot covering the white area under the safety - can't tell if it's dirt, grease, or someone may have added a little extra bluing that spilled over into the white? Or it was not fully cleaned out when they milled out the safety area?

The bore is excellent.
The grips are numbered to the gun.

Go for it...it is OK and a reasonable price.

I would jump on it.
The Navy magazine worths around $400 alone - if original, of course.
And you can get a correct one for this beauty for half of this price.
Douglas.

Thanks for all the help everyone.

I was about to buy it when I ran into some unforeseen financial issues (family stuff - daughter getting divorce). So I will not be able to get it at this time. If anyone wants it, PM me and I'll put you in touch with the seller. I'm sure he will be happy to sell it to you for the same price.

Pretty sad, but never mind, unfortunately things like these sometimes happen to everybody.

Best regards.
