DWM 1921 with "n" suffix serial
5 Attachment(s)
Let's resurrect another old thread with a new pistol in the "n" suffix series # 3218n;
but not with a 1920 date, but 1921 AND a 1920 property stamp. This curious series and this seemingly out of sequence number continue to be an enigma. I'm not sure this one will help elucidate and will perhaps only add to the confusion. I "wanted" it as it was highly unusual to me to see a 1921 date with 1920 PS; only later I noticed it is an "n" suffix. Obviously a police pistol, still with sear safety, had a mag safety which was removed and the slot welded and refinished. Pistol is matching except grips, and has #1/3218 magazine with */k inspection. Follow this link to the new post on the original thread that is now a sticky, with pictures: http://forum.lugerforum.com/showthre...288#post303288 For some reason a new post on the sticky did not bring it into "action". |

Thanks Don,
I had hoped you'd see it and comment. I was "studying" it while sleeping last night, and figured there is no reason that DWM could not have set aside the frame during 1920 and then cleaned up all the "scraps" in 1921. The whole era is a bit of a conundrum. ;) |
That's certainly plausible and I can't think of anything better. I do hate to fall back to answers like that, though.
