Blast From The Past

I've been digitizing old photographs and came across this one, which is somewhat pertinent to the hobby.
Range day with the MKb42(H).

Very nice! Is that model with the 'bulging' grip the late-model or early?

Prototype for the MP44, but the site here insists on posting it upside down!!

That is a known problem but offhand I forget what the fix is...Just copy it, flip it, and re-post...That's what I did...

I took your copy and saved it over the one I had. Hopefully that wiped out the old code!
Thanks!

I think all will see it right-side up. :)

Chubby little guy but he seems happy. Your son? :)

D'OH!!! I should have known that from the long gas tube - I thought it was a folding bayonet, ala FG42...

I am thinking about getting a ZB-26... it costs nowadays. Not rare, but I like it.

Very nice, I approve. Must have been a fun day. Do you still own it?

Never mine. It was turned into ATF by a veteran who never registered it, along with 500 rounds of ammo. Since we are very friendly with ATF around here, we got to shoot up the ammo at a range day before the rifle was donated to the Springfield Armory museum. It is on display there today.

Very cool story. Not every day you get to see a piece of history like that, let alone shoot it. I will shoot one some day.
