Simson ?

Was wanting to know if all simson side plates were serial numbered. Im looking at one but the only thing od about it is the lack of serial on side plate
Thanks

I have seen some Simson manufactured and inspected parts that were unnumbered and part of armorer's replacement kits.

Is there an E/6 or E/33 acceptance mark on the sideplate?

I do not see anything on the side plate from the photo. Everything else on the exterior look correct

Absolutely everything coming out of Simson had been inspected and had acceptance marks.

The lack of E/6 or E/33 acceptance is more indicative that it's probably a replacement plate.

I don't know if there were variations to the milling profile of the part that were also good indicators of originality.

Here's my Simson's side plate:

Its a mismatched Simson - simply by having a blank side plate. Ifi remember right, the take down lever was wrong too?

Marc, probably on Jan's forum, but I did a side plate study a while back.

Yep, takedown looks like a Modern Mauser part
