This is my second luger in 1 month. It's a 1939 Mauser 42 with 4 inch barrel. All the numbers match even the grips. Magazine looks original to that era. Finish is excellent.

Reading from my books on luger manufacture, when the extractor was blued the color changed to various reds/oranges due to the steel being 'spring steel'. I like the color on mine instead of the bare metal finish.

Some of the Blued ones are a little "red", but not because they are spring steel, but due to steel/bluing salt composition. Now if you mean ejector- they are spring steel and again either blue or straw, the only time one is "bare" is if all the finish is worn away.:eek: |
