Questions About a Friend's Luger: S/42 G
4 Attachment(s)
A friend of mine knew I had an old Luger, so when his girlfriend inherited one, he asked me about it.
It's an S/42 G (1935?), looks to be in good shape, matching serial numbers, holster, aftermarket(?) Erma clip. He is asking what the value is. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks. |

A desireable date, but that example is re-finished, and was over polished during the process.
I'm thinking it is little more than shooter value now. However, the book may have value- and the holster, but more pictures are needed of both. |
Thanks. I was guessing it was refinished based on the look of the pitting above the right trigger.
Other thoughts anyone? |
I would value it as say $800 selling, perhaps would ask $1,000 - something like this would make a nice shooter, would try to buy it for $600, maybe $700 for the entire rig.
Any tool in the holster? An extra mag? The Erma is an early, but post war magazine. they are good mags Holster could be worth $75 if cut down or modified - if original, then $125 (it needs a strap for front) and probably closer to $150+ (in value, selling at less because of strap, etc) - more pictures The ''red'' manual is in rougher shape, I want to say $60-$100 - I don't think its a rare one - and repros - even old post war repros are only worth $10-$20 Ed |
The manual is a repro put out by Stoeger. The holster looks ok. I believe the closing strap is just under the lid? Need more and better pictures. Bill

The holster is a Police model, strap and stud. What would the date and maker be?

No tool, no extra magazines. Attached are more photos of the holster.
