Mec-Gar luger magazines

I have a DWM Luger with the hold open device.
Do Mec-Gar magazines hold the toggle open?
Thank, Major Tom

Tom, indeed they do. They are currently the best functioning offered on the after-market, and using one preserves the old-time, collectible ones.

The next best older magazines (when you can find them) are the machined ones made by Hanael Schmeisser / Ernst Thalmann. The wartime ones are marked FXO and E/37 The post war Thalmann manufactured magazines marked 2/1001 can often be had at reasonable prices.

These were made to reasonably close specifications and function well when they are undamaged.

Agree with all the above

The Swiss mag is my permanent magazine in my shooter artillery.

Swiss mags, Erma mags, fxo mags all work pretty well. Post-war Mauser, too, if you install a bottom that will hold up! I use MecGars for my .30 Luger at IDPA matches.

I like the Swiss mags too- their only problems are the high price and finding them!

Mecgar at about $40 is usually 1/2 to 1/3 the price of the "others".
