New member from Florida and New Jersey
 

Hi

I just got my concealed carry in Florida and always wanted a Luger. I'm going looking for a shooter and think this would be the place. I e been come tin guns for years but no safe queens. I just got a Shuff's BM59 and cetme C308. I have a Winchester M1 carbine, Carcano, Lithgow Smle. And some more. Now looking to get some pistols.

Any help will be appreciated. Just really started to study up on Lugers and can't believe how much I have to learn! Like I said just want a shooter for now and go from there.

Looking forward to this new endeavor. Just wished I did it years ago!

Sandro, welcome to the forum. Your journey for Luger knowledge should start by reading the FAQ section. It is more of a luger primer than a traditional FAQ. There is a wealth of informationew there. Then if you have questions; ask away!

Hi Sandro, and welcome to the forum. Eugen's advice is good. You'll learn quite a bit from the FAQ document.

There is quite a bit to learn about Lugers. It can be overwhelming, so take your time. While everyone wants to get started with a Luger, sometimes it's best to first do the reading so that you'll understand some of the details that separate a collectible gun from a shooter, and issues related to faking.

Thank s guys! Yes started with the Faq section and I've downloaded the standard catalog of Luger Aaron Davis book. Unbelievable on how much information! Already learned a lot. Now want my first shooter.

I don't know if you intend to carry it, but I think a Luger would be pretty difficult to carry concealed, they are not small guns. That's why they came with nice big holsters.

A shooter should be pretty easy to find here, just keep watching the WTS section, or post a WTB of what you want.

I think you should get a Walther PPK, that's what James Bond carried and there was never a bulge under his tuxedo!

Welcome to the forum. I conceal carry in Florida and find it most practical to carry a pocket pistol like a .380. A Luger would definitely NOT be on my list of carry options.

For many reasons, safety included, I would not consider carrying a Luger these days. There are many better choices available.

While possibly implied by his post, Sandro lists many other military firearms in his collection. I expect that the Luger is going to join them... Sandro, be warned that we are excellent enablers, and it's hard to stop at one.

No not getting a Luger for My conceal carry! Funny. I'm probably getting a PPK for that.

Welcome to the forum. As stated, a bit of reading first can help keep one from making a costly mistake sometimes. This forum is most friendly, and ready to help if needed, after you zero in on your desire.

It was a reply to the "You can kiss it goodbye" comment. There are a couple threads on the forum here about confiscated Lugers getting "lost" in the legal system... :soapbox:

PPK? Seriously? PPK in .32 is anemic. In .380 a jamamatic. Go with a Colt 1908 pocket auto .380. A MUCH simpler and better design by John Browning. PP's & PPK's are full of little thin parts and springs all ready to fall out or fail. The Colt, never fail, break or jam.

I carried a stainless PPK/S .380 for a bit, and while I liked the size and shape, getting that safety off in a hurry was not pretty. Usually a 2 handed job.
