Question, cleaning rod
Can anyone tell me, was there a special cleaning rod made for the Carbine Luger longer barrel?

Re: Question, cleaning rod
Yes. The ones that I have seen have been the commercial model with the oiler on one end.

Re: Question, cleaning rod, length
John, would you know what the length of this rod would be?
|
Re: Question, cleaning rod, length
I sure don't know the exact length, but they would have been slightly longer than the 300mm barrel of the carbine.

Re: Question, cleaning rod, length
About 415mm including the short steel shank the brass rod screws into (i.e. as measured from the bottom of the oiler cylinder).

Re: Carbine cleaning rods
For those not wanting to spend over a $100 for a luger carbine cleaning rod, I ran into a good deal years ago on some really nice repro wood handled Mauser Carbine rods, which will also work work in the luger, with 18 & 1/4" rod (including 2&1/4" jag) that can be removed and replaced by brush or cloth. I'm asking $35 each or 4 for $100 plus S&H. Tom
