I have a general question about Luger magazines

The gunsmith pointed out that the rear of the mag is dimpled exactly where the back of the 2nd and 3rd shells rest. I've noticed it and didn't give it much thought but it does drag a little near the top of the mag well. Is this common? Original owner was just a maniacal tapper?
I don't plan on doing anything with it. It's part of the gun and it's story. I purchased a MEC-GAR magazine which fits and functions perfectly. I've included a few pictures.... |
Yes it is common , and no it doesn't not usually cause any problem.

He will put your magazine back in top shape if you like. Every one with a problem I have ever sent him has come back in excellent shape.
