My gut feeling is they are not, shape not right? And they were smart enough to add the thumb serrations?

These look like knock-offs. The real DDR ones look different.

Any one with more than maybe three HAVE to be "knock-offs."
But, the real ones are stamped out also. Look like the take-down tools I have. Really nice for loading magazines.
