I was in Cam Ranh Bay with the 69th Maintenance Battalion when the Bob Hope Show took place there. Christmas '67 was 49 years ago; a long, long time.

Nice looking M151. Wish I owned one now. I had one in Vietnam, a handy little vehicle that I used for a full year. Miss it. Cannot afford to buy a rebuilt one here in the states where they go for about $10,000.

Dave, What was it like being there in person?

Well, I hate to admit it, but I didn't attend the show. I instead remained in the company orderly room which allowed the First Sergeant and orderly room clerk to attend. They enjoyed the show, as I recall, but, who wouldn't.

I did nothave any idea that the show encompassed as many locations as were announced at the very beginning. A lot of places and a lot of soldiers, sailors and airmen.
