Ruger Standard roll mark

I recently aquired a Standard pistol dating to around 1969. The roll mark on the left side is a bit incomplete. Does not appear to be ground off or polished off. Any thoughts?

Yes, it looks to be incomplete.
Mfg. on Monday am or Friday pm, would be my guess.

Here is mine from 1957. Mags for these earlier ones are like hens teeth.

The mag that came with mine is in pretty good shape. You can modify the new mags to work can't you?

I was able to score this one for under $200. Got a good deal. Some bluing wear at muzzle and back strap.

If I'm not mistaken, those early metal bottom mags are indeed rare and pricey!

The mags for the Standard can be created from later versions by simply moving their follower buttons to the other side--except those for the .45 style frame, which have a bottom that prevents their fit. The older 9-shot mags can be modified to hold ten rounds by shortening the tip of the internal stop enough to hold the extra round.
