1912 Erfurt
10 Attachment(s)
A friend turned me on to this pistol about seven years ago. He got it from a Canadian dealer. It's in about 98% condition and attests to the fact that early Erfurts were every bit as nicely finished as were their DWM counterparts. It came to me with one matched magazine, one unnumbered early Erfurt magazine and an excellent matching unit marked holster.
The 93rd Infantry Regiment was the only unit raised in the Duchy of Anhalt. The Regiment was part of the 8th Infantry Division and saw action on the Western Front throughout the war. It was heavily engaged against British forces in 1917 and 1918 whence this pistol probably fell into Canadian hands. |
Beautiful presentation George! A pleasure to look at.

What a beautiful set of stuff, all marked to a specific unit. I use the term, "stuff", in an admiring way and refer to my stuff as stuff. Great staging and photography George. Bravo!

Wonderful collection and excellent photo presentation. Thanks for showing.
Best regards, Norm |
I've been to a town named Anholt near the western German border with Holland. Any chance same place?

Thanks for sharing, George!

Mr. Anderson, nobody does displays better! Cool.
|
Anhalt in this case is not a town, but a Duchy in Imperial times; it is in central Germany not the west. It was in the Soviet Zone after WWII.

Absolutely stunning George. One of the nicest guns in my collection is a 1912 Erfurt, #719a, in that condition but with no unit marking and I do not have a matching magazine or accessories like you do...you are the Master! World class stuff.

Just one word-Outstanding!! Bill |
Awesome George. I love the way you have the artifacts to support the pistols history!
Well done. W |
Simply stunning....pistol, holster and photos. What a beautiful set/rig. Well done.

Thanks, George, for putting these vignettes together. It fleshes out an image of the soldiers that used these things so long ago--every time!

Damn George! You have the coolest stuff. Next time I'm at your house I want a tour of the attic.
Absolutely stunning unit display. All those matching items are amazing. Congratulations! |
Love it. Very impressive. I really enjoy until marked pieces, because of their history.
