An Husqvarna model 1907 (browning 1903) made in 1917(first year of production) original finish, came with two spare mags and a private purchase Artillery officer holster.

There will be pictures, eventually. :evilgrin:

I'm all a-twitter waiting to see pics of the office holster! Does it attach to the desktop, or hang on the drawers??? :D

I recall seeing pics of an Artillery saddle holster. Two, actually; hung from the pommel for quick access. I imagine the office holster would be for quick access too. Maybe looped over the pencil sharpener? ;)

I'm a huge fan of FN Browning M1903 and its Swedish clone. Your M/07 is in pristine condition, congratulations and thanks for sharing!

Makes my fingers itch to hacksaw an inch off the slide/barrel... :p

Weren't you the one complaining about how small pocket pistols were? :evilgrin:


Edit: the slide mass is necessary. It's a blowback design in a 9 mm caliber on the lower spectrum of the 9 Luger. Either that or extra stiff springs.

You don't need to do it! Just go after a Colt Pocket Model 1908 in .380 ACP which is essentially the same gun. :thumbsup:

The pistol looks almost identical to my 1938 Tokarev TT33, a Fedor Tokarev copy of John Browning's original FN version.

Nah! Not just the FN 1900. You also wrote something about the Walther pp/ppk series, if I remember correctly.

Well, when I first held a Colt 1903 I was also surprised because it was so small. I guess Bogey had smallish hands. :rolleyes:

Anyways, I ended up not buying that Colt not because of its size, but because it only looked good on the left side :(. Still waiting for the right one to come my way.

About the Savage. I also got one, it's from the Portuguese contract (with lanyard ring and loaded chamber indicator), it was refinished but I don't care. It's a backup (back back backup :rolleyes: ) for my Lugers in our former service pistols shooting competition.

That's probably not a coincidence. Imperial Russia ordered some 11.0000 1903 from Browning for police use... And they were fitted with shoulder stocks. :D

So the outward looks were familiar to them and maybe well liked.
Mechanically Tokarevs were quite different, much more similar to the 1911 design.

You are right! I do prefer the longer PP. But I don't own either one. :(

Mine is the Model 1910. My LGS had a Model 1917 for a while, but I was not tempted. The grip was too extreme... :rolleyes:

You got me. Except for the relieved slide opening, it looks like mine...Is the LCI on the side of the chamber??? :confused:

I notice your magazine release actually sticks out a bit...Mine is flush and a pita to push in... :mad:

Lemme see if I can get a pic...I didn't realize until I opened my NRA Dis-assembly Handbook that the Savage has a staggered-row magazine...10 rounds... :)

I spent two weekends on Terceira Island, two weeks apart. My GF at the time spent two weeks, twice, at the same location. Those people really know how to party! Seemed like there was a celebration every weekend! :D

The LCI is around the barrel on the visible portion through the ejection port. It's a sort of T shaped spring that wraps around the barrel on the front, with the leg of the T on the mid portion of the visible barrel, it goes up to the rearmost end of the barrel and sticks out a bit if the chamber is loaded, the upper relieve of the ejection port is for you to put your index finger over it and feel the LCI in the dark. That thing can break quite easily if you try to remove it. :(

You have the early magazine release. You push in the upper part of it to release the magazine. Mine is the later version, you push on the lower part.



Yup! It was the first pistol with a removable magazine to have that feature.
