Baby Luger Grip Update

4 Attachment(s)
I had member Jim Solomon make a different set of grips for my "baby" luger.

These are full checkered and made of olive wood.

I think they have a better "look" than the original bordered ones.

Jim,
thanks for the fine work.

Yes I like the new set of grips over the bordered grip looks good with your choice of barrel also...

Baby!

Cool unit! :thumbup::thumbup:....GT.....:cheers:

Very cool!

Now you need a custom baby holster mimicking the full-size look...

Thanks Rich.

Holster- I had not thought of that!
I'll bet Jerry could make one- but it would cost more than the pistol!

I'll have to do some thinking on the holster issue.

Or maybe a wood stock-holster, similar to Mauser broomhandle??? You're good with wood...

Jerry Burney has made Baby Luger holsters in the past. I know he made one for Ted Green (Thor)... It was a beautiful sight to behold... No idea what it cost.

Would love to see a picture of the holster Jerry made!

Meanwhile, I'll just stick it in my pocket. ;)

Baby mag!

Hey Don, would you be kind enough to show a breakdown of the Baby fxo style MEC-GAR mag modification?... Best part is, no welding, and uses a box fxo spring as well! I think they're neat and cost effective as well!.... GT.............

Dug this photo out of my archives. Don't have a date, I think it is from 2002, but it is Jerry's baby Luger holster. Ho-hum, just another masterpiece from Jerry.

There she is! THANKS Ron..Ted Green is responsible for the color..Not one I would have chosen but he was paying the bill..As I recall I charged $600 for that holster. I made a half dozen of these over the years..I even made a smaller one for a 1 inch barrel for a collector in Europe. He sent me a plastic injected model of his pistol to use for fitting. I still have it.
I used to keep track of who owns this holster but I think it escapes me now.

Don,

Did you need to send your frame to Jim to get these grips made?
(I am guessing the answer is yes)
Are most Baby frames cut down to the same size?
I just bought a baby and am considering getting a spare set of grips made for it.

Thanks.

Miles,
yes, to get them to fit- send the frame.
No, to the second, they are all a little different(unless done by the same guy).
Shortened magazines also must the "custom" cut, so they will latch , but also clear at the base, and not stick out too much to be ugly.
