:crying:Spoiler alert: Looking at the condition of the Lugers in these two lots may cause tears to be shed. What a shame!

Painful to look at!
|
wow, either someone died and they sat in their basement for a long time (which I have heard more than once) or they got wet and neglected or probably both :)
Interesting saying - sold as relics only... |
Fresh out of the bunker.............

I think it's a collection. There's a Mauser Banner with a sear safety, and the rest is a mix of all vintages... Maybe the auction house would know.
|
I've seen worse, still it's a real shame, as Ed said, it's likely that the last owner died long ago and they were left forgotten in some basement.
|
Whether or not they sell them as "relics", they still need to go via an FFL!

Painful is the word, times four.

Any worse would be those dug up on the eastern front and not by much!! Good candidates for Teds' Magic!!

Well, I just managed to got a batch of pistols that were hidden in a cellar for years.
From what I could research up to now, the former owner was a Brazilian Army officer that fought in Italy with the Brazilian Expeditionary Force in 1944-45 in Italy. So those guns were his bring backs. Guns were hidden in a cellar covered with thick cosmoline grease or something like that for years. Grease has dry, but the guns were somewhat preserved in different levels of success. I don't have them yet (pending paperwork), but I know I'm going to have a lot of work to do. Some of pistols have lost their grips, others looks intact. Here are a Mauser 1914 and a Bergmann Bayard 1910 that are part of this lot. You can have an idea what I'm talking about (and all the work that lies ahead). |
Wish you luck on what looks like a big project...
|
That Bergmann Bayard 1910 is really interesting... Good luck on your project.

Thank you for your words.
In fact this lot comprises the following: - Ithaca M1911A1 (made in 1944) - Mauser C96 Bolo - FN Model 1900 - Mauser Model 1914 - Mauser C96 Wartime Commercial - Walther PPK (made in 1939) - Bergmann Bayard 1910 Everything above cost me around US$ 2,200.00. the only relued gun in this lot is the Bolo Mauser. Funny part is that my original intent was to purchase only the Ithaca as I needed a M1911A1 from WWII for my collection. Everything else was bought because the price was too good to reject.
