TODAY IN HISTORY (for anyone interested)
On March 29th, 1911, the Browning-designed, COLT produced .45 Automatic pistol, was selected as the official sidearm of the Armed Forces of U.S.A., and named Model of 1911.

I don't care a bit for the modern 1911s, but I love the old military issue pistols!

I wish I had never parted with my WW1 Colt 1911, but I sold it to a close friend to protect his home at a time when he needed it... It still serves that purpose.
This is my 1944 Remington Rand, much as it left the factory, and obviously hardly ever fired. I bought it from an NRA member in Georgia about 40 years ago... he had acquired it from the DCM sales program. |
