letter serial number confusion
 

I am new to this forum and have been reading through the stickey posts, and have come to a question... From the commercial stickey posts it is stated "The Alphabet Commercial series begins with sn 2000 i, the 4-digit/suffix equivalent to sn 92000." then goes one to say "The s, t, and u suffix commercial P08s have recently been assigned their own collector designation (Still, Weimar Lugers) as they were predominately acquired by the police. Due to the consistency of production characteristics however, they are considered here as a continuation of the Alphabet Commercial variation.
I recently came across one with what appears a lower case "t" with a 4 digit ser nmbr of 1317.
Did they start at 0 with each new letter?

each letter suffix started at 1.

Thank you, i will continue through them.

Seemingly; from the sticky posts, this one is likely a 28/29 commercial. There was mention of letter s, t, and u possibly going to police use. Im sure there would be other identifiers to signify that fact though.

Many went to the police, and some went to the army - if no police unit marking (not too likely this late) nor a sear safety - then you have to assume military (army)

I got it home today and inspected it further. No "germany" stamp on or inside of it. The magazine looks ww1 design but with bottom replaced with aluminum and stamped to match. A collector from phili stated he believes it was not intended for export. There is no date to be found anywhere...
