Toggle Lock (PICTURES ADDED)

Working on A Eagle Eagle Luger and during detail stripping, I found the interior leg of the toggle lock is broken and missing. I have another clients toggle lock to look at for general comparisons. I have contaced Tom Heller, Hugh Clark, GT, and many parts sites looking for one. I have entertained the idea of having one made or buying a replacement or having the broken one repaired. Any ideas, drawings, etc. Thanks. This Luger is restored and all I miss is the toggle lock:banghead::crying:

I believe the blueprint for the M1900 toggle lock is on page 1745 of TBLAP DVD. The toggle is on pg 1744. ;)

Thor
are you talking about the toggle hold down that has a dovetail and that fits in the frame? If so I have one.
Tom

Sounds more like this piece [red line]...I would think Tom would have one...

No Tom, the strawed part that resides inside the dished toggle and latchs onto the frame part you are taking about. Thanks

Thor 03-09-2016 12:32 PM

Yep, sheepherder, that is the piece and Tom does NOT have one. Thanks for the picture. Any chance there is a front view of the part to go with the side view? Thank you

Ted asked me about making one, and I believe it can be done. It's just one of those projects where you have to make multiple fixtures and setups, so making just one would be extremely time consuming. So is this a part that breaks often?

If there is this there a demand for this part, I can sure look into it. Some pictures of the back would be a good start.

The print shows three views of the lock plus the mainspring and a couple other parts I can't identify, should be in your mailbox.

Micro machining. Good luck!

Got it, thanks I believe lower left hand corner is the rivet detail to couple the multiple layers of steel that make up the main spring. Bottom center might be the small spring that operates the toggle lock. Lower right is the pin that goes through the toggle hole and the latch to retain the toggle lock/latch. I think the upper right is the frame piece that the toggle latch locks onto.

Yeah, that's the part that scares me. Not only do I have to make the part, I also need to make a few "negatives" to use for holding it securely in the mill.

Luger parts are... well, I guess the best way to describe them would be "very 3-dimensional", so I would still like to see some pictures to make sure I'm reading the drawings correctly.

Olle, I fully understand, will have some soon to show.

Looks like a good candidate for micro welding on a piece to replace the missing arm.

Ted,

Can't guarantee anything and don't have a clue how long it will take, but I'll see what I can do.
