Kdate crash
I have been diligently preparing metal surfaces for a rust bluing of a K date. When removing the pins and parts, I broke the mainspring rod neatly in half. Anyone have a recommendation for how best to repair that part? I have a spare but would like to keep all the original parts in this K if at all possible.
This project is incredibly slow going, by the way. I have been working on two lugers for two years and have not yet gotten one ready. Oh well. My current job is going to end in about one month and I will either have lots of time or no time at all to continue this project Dave |

Hugh Cuts those mainspring and guides and rewelds them. Neil Keller or Hugh can help you repair the one you have! Thor

Re: Kdate crash
Thanks for the information! I have a long way to go on my lugers but am making progress. This will help in that effort.

Re: Kdate crash
Sounds like you are about as fast as I am. I have a 1939 E/C Banner that has a bent frame that I have been working on (off and on) for about three years now. Only damage was in the mag release and mag well area, but a hard place to get right.

Re: Kdate crash
I want to get it right as I suspect you want to do.
