Kdate crash

I have been diligently preparing metal surfaces for a rust bluing of a K date. When removing the pins and parts, I broke the mainspring rod neatly in half. Anyone have a recommendation for how best to repair that part? I have a spare but would like to keep all the original parts in this K if at all possible.

This project is incredibly slow going, by the way. I have been working on two lugers for two years and have not yet gotten one ready. Oh well. My current job is going to end in about one month and I will either have lots of time or no time at all to continue this project

Hugh Cuts those mainspring and guides and rewelds them. Neil Keller or Hugh can help you repair the one you have! Thor

Thanks for the information! I have a long way to go on my lugers but am making progress. This will help in that effort.

Sounds like you are about as fast as I am. I have a 1939 E/C Banner that has a bent frame that I have been working on (off and on) for about three years now. Only damage was in the mag release and mag well area, but a hard place to get right.

I want to get it right as I suspect you want to do.
