NiteScout LLC .22LR Luger

2 Attachment(s)
I dropped by one of our local gun stores yesterday, and they had this newly manufactured .22LR caliber "Luger"...

Made by "NiteScout LLC" in Waterbury, Connecticut USA is "features" a stamped metal toggle assembly, and what looks and felt like lightweight cast metal frame, barrel and receiver. The barrel was not lined.

Here's a link and some pictures:

It looks like a copy of the Stoeger .22LR Luger (right down to the magazines)...

These are new and apparently currently being manufactured. IIRC, the price was in the $400-$450 range, with dealer cost at around $320.

It was not particularly well made. The safety lever felt loose. The company's other products look like stamped metal copies of the UZI and other "evil" looking and inexpensive guns...

Sure looks like the Stoeger .22 Lugers, down to the screws piercing the grips in the middle. All the plans and tooling for them had to wind up somewhere, if not destroyed. I'll bet there's a connection.

It is good to see that a company has an interest in the "Luger shape" and toggle action. I agree, it looks an awful lot like the Stoeger .22 models of yesteryear. I think that I have a mag for the Stoeger .22cal. pistol.
