update! Post X-mas!
Hello to all! Just a pre 2016 update on all that is wonderful at G.T Specialties! :jumper: Numrich Drum repair upgrade is coming to fruition, and I have 50+ drums to upgrade! They will hopefully be available by the end of Jan. 2016 ... all is full speed ahead on that quest!
Barrel making, GT Specialties sport / target, is coming along well, and I have some remaining tooling to acquire before they go to Olle for his magic! But, we will have approx. a dozen barrels of 4", 5" & 6" for the different tastes and orders that are on the plate right now!......Again, full speed ahead.... :jumper: Magazine repair is ongoing and as always, gets my best effort no matter what obstacles are encountered! ....:jumper:..... More to come, all good fun and also a very rewarding hobby! Best to all in the new year and beyond... Bill Lyon & family, you have all my prayers and best wishes.... til...lat'r...GT...... |
Numrich drum upgrade!
Hi Rich, naaaawww, I have only two or three from forum members.... But,......... I have 50 drums that NUMRICH has just sent to GT Spec. to upgrade and bring up to speed for future retail sale! They will be extensively modified, and almost on par with the originals.... There are some modifications that are necessary for the following... Fit, function, and durability! My whole family will be involved! Then, we will mark them with a GT stamp, and off we go! what an adventure! ..... I hope they live up to the standards we have set for them... the bar is pretty high compared to where we started.... I'm pretty stubborn!....... Best to all, til...lat'r....GT

well, actually more than you think Rich - it shows 151 different folks visited in the last 24 hours :) I think there are several hundred active members -
We don't have as many as some other forums, but its a good number of hard core folks who like the friendliness of this forum - or so I like to think :) Ed |

With memories of a high school past... you don't have to be popular to be a best student... In fact, one byte at a time the geeks will inherit the earth!

Rich, It's an interesting thread.. don't delete anything.

I agree!
Hi Rich, I agree, don't delete anything, it is good info and food for thought, I'll have plenty of opportunities to make progress reports as I go along! Off topic banter is sometimes the more interesting subject anyway..... :jumper:.. That is one of the many things that is neat about this group, .......Best to all, til...lat'r....GT

I enjoy the "How to knowledge" of the guys on this forum. By that I mean how to do a certain task, what not to do, what to look for in considering a purchase, how to check a recent purchase, features of different items, how to detect fakes, and many, many more helpful tips. The guidance and training is immeasurable.
Thanks for what you do and what you know and share. Jack |
Confessions from a certified Lurker.
This coming February, I will have been with you for 3 years. In that time, I have made 21 posts. I'm still learning. I am on this and Jan Still's board several times a day, usually learning something new with every log-on. In that time, I have also purchased one P.08, two LP.08's (one a shooter), one original and one repro snail drum (with a repro loader), an extra complete upper (to use as a shooter on the LP's frame), and a couple of expensive luger books. All of that was thanks to you guys and what I have learned from lurking on these two boards. I will continue to lurk 'n' learn. But I'm not in your league. I cannot answer other's questions as you guys can. I can only read your answers and learn some more. I don't even know enough to ask intelligent questions without making a fool of myself (besides, as has been pointed out more than once, the question - at my stage in Luger Learning - has been already covered if I will just search the archives). I suspect I'm no different than the others in the 60-80% that Ed noted who seldom post. |
Who was it said, I wouldn't want to be a member of any club that would accept me as a member?

The only peeve I have with this forum Is when I read an article and later go back to verified somethin and find that someone has removed a post. Questioned one poster why and he said that he was helping clean up the forum and asked in return why I did not do the same? It is not always easy to find an article that you read in the past and then when you find it some parts have been removed.

How long does it take to decide a question is "unanswered", an hour? week? year?
I say leave them up, eventually someone may find the answer and post it; or the guy that knows will finally see the posted question. JMHO. I'm not sure your "7 round" post should be deleted either- obviously at least one mag holds only 7 rounds; why is the question, again JMHO. I say when it doubt, leave it up. My pet peeve is disappearing selling prices! |
