Imperial P 08 Weimar re-issue, Cavalry marked
9 Attachment(s)
I recently found this 1917 Artillery with 4" barrel with Weimar eagle proof installed.
Best of all it is marked to a "Reiter Regiment"; :): marked A./R.R. 15.3., Ausbildungs 15th Reiter Regiment weapon 3. In nice shape, frame and receiver appear in original blue, replacement barrel is in noticeably different color. All matching, including grips. Beech bottom unmarked magazine. Has the 1932 grooving upgrade to the striker, and rear toggle pin numbered. It has a marking I have not seen on the rear toggle, Crown/script B(?) over W, above the normal part number. Wurttenburg ownership? Anyone? Thanks for looking. |
don't know - but nice luger :)

Hi Don, Thanks for posting photos of this interesting gun. The rear toggle is a replacement, just like the barrel, because Artillery rear toggles are "sightless", and was likely fabricated post-war. That mysterious marking you refer to is likely a Weimar inspection mark.
Best regards, Norm |
Don, I agree with Norm's evaluation above. TH

of course you are correct about the rear toggle, sometimes one misses the tree for the forest! Looking with a different light I could see the partial crown over C,B,or G(I can never decide which script letter) would be similar to the Crown/G we see on many early police lugers. But the "W" still throws me. |
