Threaded barrel
 

I can't find those new old stock threaded barrels for sale. Anyone have one they want to sell? I am building a suppressed Luger once tax stamp comes in.

GT can make you any kind of barrel you want for a Luger. I suggest you contact him.

Is this the ones you mean??? I saved the pic but not the GB sellers username...He advertises them occasionally...But the thread is coarse, not a 'standard' 1/2" x 28tpi [M16/AR-15] thread...

As JS stated, GT could make you one, or alter a P08 barrel by threading the front sight band... :thumbup:

Why not make a vintage type, twist and lock on attachment? Would seem way easier than
changing the barrel, and also leave you an un-modified and useful luger.

Though it is none of my business, why do you want to surpress a luger?
With an effective silencer and certainly with sub-sonic ammo it would be a single shot, wouldn't it?

That coarse thread and heavy shoulder are made for attaching an automotive oil filter.:rolleyes:

Subsonic velocity required for effective sound suppression would likely not provide enough recoil to ensure a successful firing cycle in a Luger IMHO.

Suppressor Specific 124gr fired flawlessly in all my Lugers.

Also I have fired numerous 147gr & 158gr reliably though my lugers, all subsonic.

OK, now I remember that thread! But for the oil filter, you still need an approximately 3 1/2" disk between the filter and the barrel to block off the holes for the oil return.

And as a suppressor, the action needs to be locked. If not, sound will still escape from the opened action.

Chevy oil filters are best. Chevy made at least three length filters for the SBC, the longest being ~8" long/2-quart, for the light truck [AC Delco PF932]. More absorption material for suppressing. :)

Chevy thread is 13/16" x 16tpi.

That is merely a flash hider.

It is as the title says, it protects the muzzle as you clean it - they also have a dual purpose of being made to hold the adapter of a 22LR or 4mm

I actually tried this with a P-08 4" barrel, and the sound suppression was not very good. I was using a YHM Phantom 9 mm and Nielsen device, with this exact attachment configuration. After several magazines, the threading on the retention sieve failed. In other words, the rearward pressure on the coupler cannot withstand the recoil from the slide. It was hell getting the grossly now cross threaded locking device off my gun. I had to use vice grips, and that was that for me. If the locking device was holding for 360 degrees, this might work. But as configured, the locking device will fail. I strongly suggest money not be wasted on this DAQ Coupler. I also had a machinist make a 5/8-11 to 1/2-28 thread adapter.

No, the barrel tip was not scratched. With emphasis, the adapter will not adequately withstand the forces of the barrel recoil.
The primary motive was to be able to shoot my Lugers in the back yard. I will stick to the SIG 229 and a AR 9 mm upper for that.
