1902 Presentation Cabine w/ H.S.M. On Chamber Question

Looking through my Lugers at Random book and came across this on page 79, has it even been determined whose Initials this presentation piece was made for, I know this book is dated and thought maybe new information has been acquired .

Ralph Shattuck always said it was Hiram Maxim - he told me he picked it up as one of his first large purchases

Besides the story, there is no documentation that I know of that states who this presentation was made for....

here it is for sale at rock island

HCR (Henry Caldwell Roan) Luger Carbine #9112C. In 1888, Reynolds (tobacco company) formed a formal partnership with Mr. Will and the company bookkeeper (Secretary Treasurer), Henry Roan. Reynolds served as President with 75% ownership, and Mr. Will and Henry Roan divided the remainder.
