1920 dwm commercial 30, value?
Got the chance to buy an all numbers matching dwm Luger in cal. 30. The pistol has what appears to be the original finish and all parts minus the mag match. The mag has an aluminum base. Seller would like $650, is this a good deal?

It mostly depends on the condition of the bore and other internal parts and will it run some cartridges; if it is O.K. in those aspects, then it is a very sweet purchase.
Others will have much more to say after taking a closer look at your pictures; I don't have time to do that. Jack |
Need more detailed pics of other side, top, serial number, barrel number, markings
Do internal numbers match? If it all checks out, sounds like a good deal. |
In my opinion 650.00 USD is not much, just check che bore, if you want a shooter cal 30 Luger is more expensive.

I can't imagine how you could get hurt at that price. There is salvage value in the incorrect magazine, which may end up being replaced with a Mec-Gar anyway.

I'd buy it unless the bore is a sewer pipe; then I would offer less- but still buy it.

It's worth $650 just in parts alone.

Just as an update I saw the Luger tonight but didn't have time to take pics. All parts indeed match and the magazine is a "FXO". The right side has pretty significant finish wear with some pitting. The front and back strap are also well worn from it's bluing. The barrel also had a couple small spots that could be pitting, overall the bore was shiny while retaining it's lands and grooves. However the right grip panel was loose and both grips have wear. Based on what I have seen with it, we came to the terms of $500. Should I buy it?

Yes.

Hmmm....., let's see- we said buy it at $650, but at $500??
Don't hurt your hand reaching for your wallet! ;) |
yes
The $100+ you got off the price is good for shooting ammo - heck, I was selling some 30 Luger (7.65mm) not long ago :) |
I would purchase that Luger for $500 in a heartbeat!! You can not lose on this deal.

Thank you for your input everyone. I'm making arrangements to buy it now.
