do you have a before picture to compare with this after picture ?

can you match blueing on replaced parts to the main gun - like replaced sideplate or center toggle link?

for typical polish level on rust or salt blue ?
or for custom bright polished gun ?

do you need whole gun or a sample part to match blue/polish - like a rear toggle to center link etc ?

thanks !
Bill

Every single time I see your work, I kick myself for not living in the States!

Here is a partial restoration, just part of the gun was restored. The BEFORE and AFTER pictures are under different lighting but the AFTER picture matched the original bluing pretty good. This is a late issue mauser Luger that I repaired inside the right frame ear.http://members.rennlist.org/lugerman/Blemishbefore.jpg

Very nice work.

Do you mark your work in any way? As in an inside spot?

Thor 09-14-2015 09:37 PM

Don, I used to use a triad of small red dots in a triangle shape hidden inside the mag well but I dont do that anymore. I just keep a record of weapons I work on.

Stunning! Always a pleasure to see your restorations, Ted.
Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work!

Yep, I used to mark them, then a client took a dremel sander to one of my finished Lugers and cut it out then returned it to me to redo. That did it. I want to make them look as factory done as possible.

Thor

I wonder why he did such a thing.
Anyway let me say it, you're an artist!

Between Ted's faith and demand for perfection, he is a fine example of what we may obtain with patience and skill! He demonstates what is possible if one is devoted to a cause in which he believes~~Bringing lugers back from the dead usesing only his faith skills and demand for perfection~ Eric
